IPAF Harness Awareness + Harness User
Duration: 1 day
£120+VAT

Our IPAF Harness Awareness & Harness User course provides delegates with the knowledge and practical understanding required to safely select, inspect, fit, and use harnesses and lanyards when operating MEWPs. The course covers types of harnesses and lanyards, correct fitting and adjustment, pre-use checks, anchor point selection, safe use within MEWPs, storage, maintenance, and relevant UK legislation. Delegates will gain confidence in understanding why fall protection is required and how incorrect use can increase risk rather than reduce it.

Harness training is vital to ensure compliance with Work at Height Regulations, helping employers meet their legal duties while protecting operators from serious injury.

On successful completion, delegates will receive certification for IPAF Harness Awareness & Harness User training valid for 5 years.

IPAF Harness Awareness + Harness User + Harness Inspection
Duration: 1 day
£200+VAT

Our combined IPAF Harness Awareness, Harness User & Harness Inspection course is designed for individuals who not only use harnesses when operating MEWPs but are also responsible for formally inspecting and recording fall protection equipment within their organisation.

This course covers everything included in the standard Harness Awareness & Harness User training, In addition, the course provides in-depth training on formal inspection procedures, defect identification, inspection intervals, record keeping, and when equipment must be withdrawn from service. This element is aimed at those appointed as a competent person responsible for carrying out detailed harness inspections in line with manufacturer guidance and Work at Height Regulations.

It is important to note that delegates cannot undertake IPAF Harness Inspection training without first completing Harness Awareness and User training, as a full understanding of correct use is required before progressing to inspection competency. For this reason, the combined course offers a practical and efficient solution — allowing delegates to gain full user and inspection knowledge in one programme, saving time while ensuring full compliance.

This combined option is ideal for supervisors, site managers, and responsible persons who oversee equipment safety as well as those who use harnesses themselves.
